English 111: Week 2 Reading Response

In Sea's argument he's trying to say a few things. One of those points being women aren't the only ones who have to worry about sexism, that it takes place in both genders. He's also trying to let us know that it's not good to portray men doing things he feel a woman should be doing and that with every commercial to comes out portraying men as feminist it's actually going to have the opposite affect on men and that when publicly portraying men that way they risk an ever more degrating response on women so that we can prove our masculinity. He claims "that the television's portrayal of men does just as much to hurt their cause as a women." Sea also claims that they should stop advertising " men should act like men," because of the fact that "they show men acting inappropriately."
Sea claims that if feminists were to stop advertising men acting inappropriately or stop advertising men should act like men then the less men would stop try to prove our dominance over women. Sea also claims that if such commercials are to advertised to reveal both sides of the gender in that situation to have less outrage from one or the others side of things. His claims sounds good however sexism has been around for countless days and if they were to abide by his claim they would have to change six billion people's minds, my guess is only a small fraction of that would change.
